Why does my entry have no title and no summary yet?

After saving, the AI analyzes the content. While that runs, the purple magic wand on the entry pulses. You see this on all your devices.

How long does it take? Usually a few seconds up to a minute. Large PDFs, long videos and slow web pages need a few minutes. Entries that consist of a title only are deliberately assessed after three to five minutes.

What you can do if nothing arrives

1. Check your internet connection. The attachment has to be uploaded completely before the analysis can start.
2. Open the entry, tap the menu on the attachment and choose Analyze with AI again.
3. If that does not help, write to us through Settings → Support and mention the title or the address of the entry.

These get no summary

• Voice memos and audio files: they are transcribed on your device, and the title comes from what was said.
• Videos longer than 15 minutes.
• File types 4later cannot read. The attachment then says that AI analysis is not supported for this file type.
• Password-protected PDFs as long as they are locked. Open the PDF and unlock it.

Does the video say "This video could not be analyzed"? Then the AI did not manage the video in time, twice, usually because it is very long or very large. Tap the menu on the attachment and choose Analyze with AI again to give it another try.

Web pages behind a login cannot be opened by our server. That is why 4later takes the page content along from your device when you save. Save such pages from Safari while you are signed in there and the page has finished loading.
