Set a link's preview image yourself

If a saved link shows only a login page, a cookie notice or the hint Behind a sign-in as its preview, you can set the picture yourself. The summary then follows the real page too.

  1. Open the link in 4later (tap the attachment).
  2. Sign in on the page or confirm the cookie dialog until you see the actual content.
  3. In the bar at the bottom, tap the camera icon Use as preview. The icon briefly turns into a check mark.

The link then shows the picture you just saw, and 4later creates the title and summary again from that page. A title you typed yourself stays as it is.

The picture also stays when you reload the entry or the preview. 4later no longer replaces it on its own, and your other devices pick up the new picture by themselves.

In a shared topic, all members see the picture and the summary you chose. So think first whether the signed-in view is meant for the others.

The button is missing in archived topics and when you are only a viewer in a shared topic.
