On the pages Import → iCloud Drive and Import → Dropbox you see two things: Status tells you why nothing is being imported right now (for example no internet connection, storage full or iCloud Drive off). The list Not Imported names the reason for each file. The most common reasons:
- Already imported. Every file comes into 4later only once, even if you have deleted its entry since. 4later recognizes a file by its content, not by its name, so a renamed copy counts as the same file. Tap the row in the list to open the existing entry, even if it is in the bin. If the entry is in the bin, simply restore it there.
- The app wasn't open yet (iCloud only). 4later imports iCloud files when you open the app. Open 4later and wait a moment; files you just added wait about one to two minutes.
- File type not supported. Only PDF, JPEG, PNG and HEIC are imported.
- File too large. Dropbox files up to 50 MB are imported, iCloud Drive files up to 1 GB.
- Import failed, will be tried again. 4later tries again on the next run.
- Not part of your plan. Your plan has no imports from this source, the files stay in the folder.
- Storage full. Free up space in 4later or change your plan; the file is then picked up.
- Monthly allowance used up. This applies to iCloud Drive and Dropbox, each source has its own allowance. The files stay in the folder and come next month. The account card in Settings shows what is left as remaining/limit: 131/150 means 131 of 150 imports are still free this month.
- No internet connection (iCloud only). The import continues the next time you open 4later.
- iCloud Drive is off. Sign in to iCloud in the iOS Settings and turn on iCloud Drive.
For Dropbox the list only says when a file was already imported, without file names; 4later does not keep file names from your Dropbox. Files of the wrong type or over 50 MB are simply left there.
