How do I import files from Dropbox?

Connect your Dropbox, and everything that lands in one particular folder becomes an entry in 4later automatically, even while the app is closed. Ideal for scanners that save straight to Dropbox.

Set it up

  1. Open Settings in 4later and tap Import → Dropbox.
  2. Tap Connect Dropbox …, sign in to Dropbox and allow "4later Import" access.
  3. Under Target Topic, choose where the entries should go. If you don't choose, they go to the "4later" topic.

How it works

  • Your Dropbox now has a folder Apps/4later Import. 4later picks up whatever you put there within a short time, and you get a notification.
  • 4later only sees this one folder, never the rest of your Dropbox.
  • PDF, JPEG, PNG and HEIC files up to 50 MB each are imported.
  • Dropbox import is part of your plan. How many files you can import per month is shown on the Dropbox page. Once that is used up, the files stay in the folder and are imported next month.
  • A notification lets you know before your monthly allowance runs out, and again once it is used up. Tapping it shows your options.

Delete File After Import

Starts out on: after the import the file leaves the folder and can be restored in Dropbox under "Deleted files". If you turn the switch off, it stays where it is.

Disconnect

Tap Disconnect Dropbox … on the same page. 4later loses access immediately. You can also remove the connection in Dropbox under "Connected apps".
