4later ships with ready-made shortcuts. You find them in the Shortcuts app under "4later", with nothing to set up.
With Siri
- "Save to 4later", then say what to save. If you mention a web address ("wikipedia.org"), it is saved as a website.
- "Record voice memo in 4later"
- "Search in 4later"
- "What's due in 4later"
- "Ask 4later"
The AI then files the entry into the matching topic. For entries that consist of a title only, this takes three to five minutes.
Without voice
Put the "Save to 4later" shortcut on your Home Screen or the Action button: in the Shortcuts app, touch and hold the shortcut, then choose Add to Home Screen.
Saving into a specific topic
The topic cannot be picked by voice. Build your own shortcut in the Shortcuts app with the 4later action, pick the topic there once by tapping, and give the shortcut a name of its own that you can say to Siri.
Known limitation on iOS 27 in German
With the device language set to German, Siri sometimes first asks which app you mean ("4later or Notes?") and then keeps repeating the question what to save. Nothing is lost, but the voice command is unreliable at the moment. Until then, start the shortcut from the Home Screen or the Action button, or save through the share sheet. We re-check this with every iOS update.
